Authors, poets, speakers, and scholars all discuss the search for purpose and meaning. Some encourage us to pursue our passions, believing purpose will follow, while others argue that life is inherently meaningless. My view of purpose, like most beliefs, will likely mature over time. The only real, unfiltered information I have comes from my own experience. Each of us has a unique purpose, but to discover it, we must first meet our True Self.
Why We Must Meet Our True Self
From birth, we are conditioned to be the version of ourselves we know and experience. This is neither right nor wrong; it just is. We are born helpless and need the love, protection, and nurturing of our parents. Along the way, they pass down their values and beliefs with good intentions. Eventually, we look beyond the walls of our home to society at large to inform us of who we are and what we need to do to “be happy and fulfilled.” The values instilled by our parents are tested against those of mainstream society. This is a natural stage in our evolution. These values either become cemented, acting as a compass, or they become distorted and, in some cases, discarded due to the overwhelming need to conform and not rock the boat.
The Measure of Health in Society
I am drawn to the Jiddu Krishnamurti quote, “It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.” You need only examine the fruit to know the health of the tree, and many of us are mentally, physically, and spiritually in a state of chronic dis-ease. We accumulate material wealth but find ourselves impoverished. We have access to unlimited information but have never been so lost. The paths celebrated by society provide flashes of joy, happiness, and connection, but they are fleeting and far between. However, I am not on a mission to change society or the world. Like suffering, our state of affairs is necessary until we wake up to the fact that it’s not. Until then, I nurture my awareness, patience, perspective, and faith. I focus on raising my consciousness, knowing that it can’t help but affect the macro.
Discovering Our Authentic Purpose
With time, intention, and conscious effort, we can peel back layers of trauma and conditioning. Without judgment, we can examine our values, beliefs, and subsequent perspectives. We can dissect the stories and narratives through which we see ourselves and the world and question their validity and alignment. Over time, we can go deep enough to discover our essence (True Self, Soul, etc.). It is from this place that our purpose emerges and naturally flows. But to bring this to life, we must align our essence and ego, releasing any desires or attachments with outcomes and results. Rather than prescribing purpose, you become a vehicle for it. You learn to tap into a universal field of consciousness—an infinite potential.

Stepping into Purpose
These last few years have been more than transformative; they’ve been LIBERATING! Moment by moment, layer by layer, I have inched closer to freedom—a freedom that cannot be taught or provided, only pointed toward and directly experienced. In this state of “I am enough,” I’m free to be the author and illustrator of my story. I don’t pray to God and ask Him for things. I try to live my life as a prayer of thanks and gratitude for all God has given me. When we move through life in a state of wholeness, everyone and everything has been divinely orchestrated to support our healing, growth, and liberation.
As I have evolved, so has my vocational vehicle, The Journey Home. In recent months, I have aligned my intentions and actions to breathe life into a new coaching program. This program empowers individuals to liberate themselves from the false stories and self-limiting beliefs created by trauma and social conditioning. It comprises immersive coaching pathways, courses, and, eventually, community and in-person events. I’m being called to take an “inch wide and mile deep” approach, focusing on providing in-depth support over long periods rather than casting a large net to scale quickly. I believe the only way to scale healing is to empower others to reconnect with their True Selves and inner healers. True healing lies in their hands.
My Invitation
As I release this to my community, I do so without attachment to a desired outcome or level of impact. I will not judge its value by the number of seats filled or courses sold; that is beyond my control. My promise is to remain a clear vessel and be a conduit for Love. I am not a healer or a teacher. I am not enlightened, and I have not transcended the illusions of the ego. I often say and do things that I regret. These last few months have been filled with fear and trepidation… “I want… I should… what if…” A dragon guards every great treasure, but I see the dragon for what it is: an aspect of my Self waiting to be loved and integrated.
The Journey Home signifies something different for each of us. For me, it’s been a journey of remembering who I am, remembering what I am, and bringing what makes me come alive to the world. Thank you for coming on this journey with me, and I look forward to sharing more as it emerges.
